About Kennedy Range
Kennedy Range is a remote locality in the Gascoyne region of Western Australia, on the edge of the Gascoyne River catchment, and home to Kennedy Range National Park. The range is a vast weathered sandstone plateau rising above the surrounding plains, dissected by gorges such as Temple Gorge and Draper's Gorge, and named by explorer Francis Gregory in 1858 after Governor Arthur Edward Kennedy. The national park, established in 1993, is known for its red rock cliffs, seasonal wildflowers and camping under star-filled skies.
