About Mount Helena
Mount Helena is a hills suburb 35 kilometres from Perth in the Shire of Mundaring. Originally established as White's Mill in 1882 to supply timber sleepers for the Eastern Railway, it became Lion Mill in 1898 before being renamed Mount Helena in 1924. The Railway Reserve Heritage Trail follows the old railway alignment through the native jarrah forest. The suburb offers a semi-rural lifestyle within commuting distance of Perth.
