It is 88 kilometres south of Perth, 12 kilometres southeast of Mandurah and 7 kilometres northwest of Pinjarra, within the Shire of Murray. Named after a property established by Adam Armstrong in the 1840s, Armstrong arrived with Thomas Peel on the ship Gilmore in 1829.
