About North Dandalup
North Dandalup is a small town in the Peel region of Western Australia, on the South Western Highway in the Shire of Murray between Serpentine and Pinjarra. The name Dandalup is a Noongar word relating to the rivers of the area. A railway stopping place from 1894, the town later became a timber centre and was gazetted in 1972. The North Dandalup Dam, opened in 1994 and about 6 km from the town, offers recreational facilities, and the town lies near the North Dandalup Important Bird Area.
