About Blythewood
Blythewood is a rural locality of the Shire of Murray in the Peel Region of Western Australia, about 85 kilometres south of Perth near the town of Pinjarra. It is on the traditional land of the Pindjarup people of the Noongar nation. The locality is known for the heritage-listed Old Blythewood homestead, built by pioneering settler John McLarty between 1859 and 1861 on a high bank overlooking the Murray River.
