About Woodford (Vic.)
Woodford is a small historic town in the Western District of Victoria, located 9 kilometres north of Warrnambool and 266 kilometres south-west of Melbourne. Settled in 1846 as the first crossing point on the Merri River between Port Fairy and Warrnambool, it retains a primary school dating from 1854 and a rural-residential character as a satellite community of Warrnambool.
