About Timboon

Timboon is a town in the Western District of Victoria, in the Shire of Corangamite about 213 km south-west of Melbourne. Settled in the 1870s after land in the Heytesbury forest was cleared, it grew around dairy farming, which remains central to the local economy. The former goods shed of the railway station, on a line that closed in 1986, now houses the Timboon Railway Shed Distillery, and the old rail route to Camperdown has become a rail trail with a restored trestle bridge.
