About Colac

Colac is a rural city in Victoria's Western District, about 150 km south-west of Melbourne on the southern shore of Lake Colac, the largest natural freshwater lake in Victoria. Situated on one of the world's largest volcanic plains, it serves as a gateway to the Otway Ranges and Great Otway National Park. The town is known for its dairy farming region, the historic Colac Botanic Gardens and proximity to Red Rock Reserve and the Great Ocean Road.
