About Burramboot
Burramboot is a rural locality in the Shire of Campaspe in northern Victoria, south of the town of Corop near the shallow Lake Cooper. The Burramboot pastoral run, established by James Cooper in 1841, was the first European settlement in the Corop district, and Lake Cooper — known to the traditional owners as Paboinboolok, meaning shallow sheet of water — is named after him. The locality is farmland around the lake, whose shallow waters are habitat for brolgas and other water birds.
