About Vinifera
Vinifera is a locality in the Swan Hill district of Victoria, about 22 kilometres from Swan Hill. It was named after Vitis vinifera, the common grape vine, reflecting the grape growing that followed the opening of irrigated land. The local post office, opened on 1 February 1907 as Tyntynder West, was renamed Vinifera in 1922.
