About Tragowel
Tragowel is a farming locality on the flat irrigated plains of the Loddon Valley in north-west Victoria, about 15 kilometres south of Kerang. The area has a long history of irrigation agriculture supported by the Tragowel Plains Irrigation Trust, established in 1886 as one of the first projects of national importance in Victoria. The Tragowel Swamp north of the town centre is a recognised bird sanctuary, and a former cheese factory is recorded by the National Trust.
