About Mount Cole

Mount Cole is a rural locality in western Victoria, near Beaufort. It is named after Mount Cole, a granite peak rising above the surrounding volcanic plains. The area includes the Mount Cole State Forest, an important timber resource with a history of sawmilling dating back to the 1840s. The forest is home to the rare Mount Cole Grevillea.
