About Dadswells Bridge
Dadswells Bridge is a locality on the Western Highway in the Wimmera region of Victoria, about 20 km south-east of Horsham at the northern end of the Grampians. It grew around a road crossing of Mt William Creek on the Melbourne to Adelaide route, where Thomas and Helena Dadswell built a bridge and hotel in the 1860s. The town is best known for the Giant Koala, a large roadside sculpture opened in 1988, and serves as a gateway to the Grampians National Park with its Aboriginal rock art sites and bushwalks.
