About Baxter
Baxter is a rural township in the Shire of Mornington Peninsula, Victoria, Australia, located 48 km (30 mi) south-east of Melbourne's central business district and served by Baxter railway station on the Stony Point line. Originally named Baxter's Flat, the township was founded by pastoralist Captain Benjamin Baxter, who established the Carrup Carrup run in 1838.
