About Albion (Vic.)
Albion is a suburb about 14 km west of Melbourne's central business district, within the City of Brimbank. It began in the 1850s as a village on the road to Ballarat, and Albion, an ancient poetic name for Britain, survives in its railway station, which first opened in 1860 and was relocated to its present site in 1919. A landmark is the heritage-listed John Darling and Son flour mill, built beside the station in 1922. Kororoit Creek, with its walking and cycling trail, forms the suburb's western boundary.
