About Dandenong South

Dandenong South is an industrial suburb of Melbourne about 31 km south-east of the central business district, in the City of Greater Dandenong. The area became a major manufacturing centre from the 1950s, when the 'Big Three' companies International Harvester, Heinz and General Motors Holden established factories on its flat land, and it remains one of Victoria's principal industrial districts, home to factories, distribution centres and the closed General Motors railway station on the Gippsland line.
