About Wandin East

Wandin East is a town in the Shire of Yarra Ranges in Victoria, about 45 kilometres east of Melbourne. The name comes from Wandin Yallock, meaning swift-running stream, and Wandin Yallock Creek and Boggy Creek flow through the district. Set on fertile red soil, it has been fruit-growing country since the mid-1860s, with orchards of cherries, strawberries, raspberries and apples, and CherryHill Orchards hosts Australia's largest cherry blossom festival in spring.
