About Mont Albert

Mont Albert is an elevated inner-eastern suburb of Melbourne, about 12 kilometres from the city centre, straddling the Cities of Boroondara and Whitehorse. The name pairs "mont" with Prince Albert, the Prince Consort, and the suburb grew around its railway station, opened in 1890. It is known for its garden streets and Edwardian, English Domestic Revival and Arts and Crafts houses, with the Hamilton Street shops dating from 1913.
