About Nungurner

Nungurner is a lakeside rural locality in East Gippsland, about 10 kilometres west of Lakes Entrance on the Gippsland Lakes. The name is thought to derive from an Aboriginal word describing the landscape. Farming began in the 1920s and the nearby Nyerimilang homestead and gardens, once a private holiday resort, are now managed by Parks Victoria as a public facility. The foreshore jetty opened in 1957.
