About Jack River
Jack River is a locality in the Shire of Wellington in South Gippsland, Victoria, near Yarram. It takes its name from the nearby Jack River, a tributary of the Albert River that rises in the Strzelecki Ranges, and is thought to honour William C. Jack, a pioneer settler. A school operated here from 1886 until 1964.
