About Genoa

Genoa is a town in East Gippsland in eastern Victoria, close to the New South Wales border where the Princes Highway crosses the Genoa River. It is an important access point to the Croajingolong National Park, home to Genoa Peak. In 1972 the earliest known trackways of primitive four-legged vertebrates were found in the Genoa River Gorge, dating back about 350 million years. The town was badly affected by the 2019 bushfires.
