About Darriman

Darriman is a rural locality in the Wellington Shire of Gippsland in eastern Victoria, between Sale, Stratford and Yarram. Pastoralists moved into the district in the early 1840s, and Darriman was the site of the Warrigal Creek massacre of 1843, one of the deadliest frontier attacks on Aboriginal people in Victoria. The locality today is largely cleared farming and grazing country.
