About Callignee
Callignee is a rural locality in the Gippsland region of Victoria, in the Latrobe Valley east of Melbourne. On Black Saturday, 7 February 2009, the Churchill bushfire swept through Callignee and the neighbouring townships of Koornalla and Jeeralang, claiming 11 lives and destroying 145 homes across the area.
