About Talgarno

Talgarno is a rural locality on the southern shoreline of Lake Hume on the Murray River, about 23 kilometres east of Albury-Wodonga in the Towong Shire. Named after the Talgarno pastoral station established in 1836, its river flats were inundated when Lake Hume was created in the mid-1930s. A school opened in 1877 and the community hall was refurbished in the 1990s.
