About Samaria
Samaria is a rural locality in the Hume region of Victoria, situated between Mansfield and Benalla in the Benalla Rural City area. Once a coaching town on the important route between Mansfield and Benalla during the gold rush era, the settlement was bypassed when the railway line and Hume Highway were constructed. The area is characterised by open farming country at the foothills of the Victorian Alps, with Mount Samaria State Park nearby offering bushwalking and wildlife.
