About Northwood (Vic.)
Northwood is a rural locality in the Shire of Mitchell in central Victoria, about 13 km north of Seymour in the foothills of the Strathbogie Ranges. The area was taken up as Northwood Station, a cattle run established on the Goulburn River by the overlander John Clark in 1838, before the nearby town of Seymour was founded. It remains a grazing and farming district, and is also home to Darley Stables, a horse stud owned by the Sheikh of Dubai, and the historic Northwood State School reserve with its Avenue of Honour.
