About Glengower
Glengower is a locality on the Moolort Plains in central Victoria, between Newstead and Creswick. It was the site of the Glengower pastoral run, established in 1839 by Dugald McLachlan and named after a location in Argyllshire, Scotland. The run spanned over 40,000 acres on the fertile volcanic plains. The Glengower Pioneers Memorial Grave, erected in 1949, commemorates three early station workers buried at the site.
