About Blakeville

Blakeville is a former timber-cutting township in the Moorabool Shire of western Victoria, about 12 kilometres north of Ballan on the southern edge of the Wombat State Forest. Established in the 1860s around Edward Blake's sawmills, the settlement also supported gold mining and once had a school, hotel and store, though most buildings have since been removed.
