About Woolnorth

Woolnorth is a rural locality on the far north-western tip of Tasmania, about 37 kilometres north-west of Smithton. It was established in 1829 as a pastoral property of the Van Diemen's Land Company and is now home to the Woolnorth Wind Farm, comprising the Bluff Point and Studland Bay wind farms. The locality also includes Cape Grim, site of a baseline air pollution station that records some of the cleanest air in the world.
