About Barrington (Tas.)

Barrington is a small rural locality in the Kentish Council area of north-western Tasmania, situated on the slopes of Mount Roland approximately 25 kilometres south of Devonport. The area is characterised by dairy farming, potato growing and remnant wet eucalypt forest on the rolling hills of the north-west coast hinterland. Barrington lies within the broader north-west Tasmanian landscape of fertile volcanic soils, pastureland and the scenic backdrop of Mount Roland and the Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park.
