About Wayatinah

Wayatinah is a locality in the Central Highlands of Tasmania, about 40 km north-west of Hamilton. It was established in the 1950s as a Hydro Electric Commission village for workers on the Derwent hydroelectric scheme. The Wayatinah Power Station and Dam are located nearby. The name is an Aboriginal word meaning 'brook'.
