About Legana
Legana is a rural and residential locality on the Tamar River, 12 kilometres north of Launceston in Tasmania. Its name comes from a Palawa word for fresh water, marking the point where the Tamar estuary turns from salt to fresh. Originally dairy farms, apple orchards and cattle country, the area has grown into one of Tasmania's fastest-growing residential districts.
