About Tolmans Hill

Tolmans Hill is a suburb of Hobart, Tasmania, regarded as the city's last large-scale greenfield suburban development. It is named after Hobart businessman John Gibbs Tolman, who bought the land for £650 in 1889, and was used for grazing until the 1980s. The subdivision approved by the Hobart City Council in 1991 was designed to preserve the bushland character of the area.
