About Glebe (Tas.)

Glebe is a small suburb of Hobart, Tasmania, adjacent to the city centre on the same promontory as the Queens Domain, the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens and the Hobart Aquatic Centre. Brooker Avenue marks its western boundary and the Tasman Highway its southern side. The suburb retains Victorian and Federation-era timber terraced houses, some up to four storeys high, and was the birthplace of the Higgins brothers, pioneering cinematographers of the Australian silent film era.
