About Strathalbyn (SA)
Strathalbyn is a historic heritage town in the Alexandrina Council about 60 km southeast of Adelaide on the banks of the River Angas, at the southeastern edge of the Adelaide Hills. Founded in 1839 by Scottish immigrants, it is known as South Australia's "antique capital" due to its numerous heritage buildings and preserved 19th-century architecture. St Andrew's Church, regarded as one of Australia's most beautiful churches, is set within the Soldiers Memorial Garden parklands, and the town serves as a service centre for surrounding agricultural and wine country including the Langhorne Creek wine region.
