About Mount Wedge
Mount Wedge is a locality on the Eyre Peninsula of South Australia, near Elliston. It is named after a prominent granite peak named by explorer Edward John Eyre in 1839. The mountain is composed of a rare form of granite shared by only one other mountain in the world. Cereal cropping and sheep grazing are the main agricultural activities. The Mount Wedge School operated from 1914 to 1970.
