About Whyte Yarcowie
Whyte Yarcowie is a town and locality on the Barrier Highway in South Australia's mid north, about 215 kilometres north of Adelaide between Hallett and Terowie. Surveyed in 1875 on the site of an earlier pastoral station, the town once had a railway station on the Peterborough line, two hotels and several churches, and retains the historic Yarcowie Hotel opened around 1881 and nearby State Heritage-listed Mungibbie Homestead.
