About Waterloo (SA)
Waterloo is a historic settlement in South Australia's Mid North, located in a valley at the head of the Light River approximately 121 kilometres north-east of Adelaide. Surveyed and established in 1865, it is the birthplace of Tom Kruse, the renowned outback mailman who worked the Birdsville Track. Windfarms on nearby ranges now complement the surrounding productive agricultural district.
