About Manoora (SA)

Manoora is a small settlement on the Barrier Highway and upper reaches of the Gilbert River in South Australia's Mid North, within the Clare and Gilbert Valleys Council area. First settled by sheep pastoralists around 1841, it retains a State Heritage-listed town hall and is named after an early station in the district believed to derive from an Aboriginal word for a spring or water.
