About Point Pass
Point Pass is a small town in the Mid North of South Australia, about 115 kilometres north of Adelaide and 11 kilometres north of Eudunda in the Regional Council of Goyder. It was named after Poyntzpass in County Armagh, Ireland, at the suggestion of an early settler. The town was settled by German Lutheran families from the 1860s, and Immanuel College, the Lutheran school and training college, was founded here in 1895 by Pastor Georg Leidig before later moving to Adelaide. The surrounding district is given over to wheat and wool farming.
