About Altona (SA)
Altona is a small rural locality in the Barossa Valley, approximately 2 kilometres east of Lyndoch in the Barossa Council area. Subdivided by J. Mattner in 1866, it sits within one of Australia's most celebrated wine regions, surrounded by vineyards, cellar doors and the rolling hills characteristic of the southern Barossa.
