About Panorama

Panorama is a southern foothills suburb of Adelaide in the City of Mitcham, South Australia, located 7 to 8 kilometres south of the Adelaide central business district. Originally named Spring Hill due to a naturally occurring spring in the hills behind, the name was changed to Panorama after residents of nearby Springfield complained the names were too similar. A post office opened in 1947 and was renamed Pasadena in 1982. The suburb is bounded by Pasadena to the north, Belair and Eden Hills to the east, Clapham and Colonel Light Gardens to the south and Daw Park to the west. Early European settlement began in the late 1830s with land grants and the area was originally a farming community with early Irish settlers.
