About Ingle Farm
Ingle Farm is a residential suburb with some parklands in the South Australian capital of Adelaide, at the base of the Mount Lofty Ranges foothills, about 12 km north-east of the central business district. It takes its name from the farm established by James Rowe, who settled the area in 1848 and grew wheat, barley and hay; the farm was renamed when his grandson married a Miss Wright of Inglewood. The South Australian Housing Trust bought the land in 1959 and built the suburb's first houses in 1965, completing about 2,500 homes by 1975.
