About Broadview

Broadview is an inner northern suburb of Adelaide, South Australia, located approximately 6 kilometres from the Adelaide city centre. It lies within the City of Port Adelaide Enfield and the City of Prospect, with Regency Road passing through the suburb and Hampstead Road forming its eastern boundary. The area was laid out in 1915 by C. H. Angas and K. D. Bowman and subdivided for residential sale in 1918. The suburb's name derives from the broad panoramic views of the Adelaide plains that were once afforded by its elevated position, though these have since been largely diminished by subsequent urban development. Broadview is characterised by a mix of early twentieth-century bungalow homes, post-war housing, and modern infill on tree-lined streets, with local landmarks including Broadview Oval and several community churches.
