About Jupiter Creek

Jupiter Creek is a semi-rural locality in the Adelaide Hills, within the District Council of Mount Barker about 25 kilometres south-east of Adelaide. The area was the site of a significant gold rush in 1868 when payable alluvial gold was discovered, attracting around 1,200 miners to a makeshift township. Today the Jupiter Creek Gold Diggings form a state heritage-listed site with a fossicking reserve and interpretive walking trail.
