About Blakiston

Blakiston is a town in the Australian state of South Australia. The town is located approximately 36 kilometres (22 mi) south-east of the state capital of Adelaide, adjacent to the Princes Highway. Settlers occupied the area from 1846, and the town was founded by Francis Davison, who named it for his ancestral home, Blakiston Hall in County Durham. St James Church was consecrated in 1846.
