About Wallaville
Wallaville is a rural town in the Bundaberg Region of Queensland, about 43 km south-west of Bundaberg. The Gin Gin co-operative sugar mill opened there in 1896, and during the cane crushing season the town's population doubled with an influx of mill workers and cane cutters. A railway line connected the mill to the state network from 1920 until 1964, and the mill itself closed in 1974, after which cane was railed to the Bingera mill.
