About Maroondan
Maroondan is a rural locality about 43 kilometres west-south-west of Bundaberg in the Bundaberg Region. The flat to gently undulating terrain is part of the Kolan River drainage sub-basin, and the name is derived from the Waka language word maroondah meaning sand goanna. A state school has operated in the area since 1927.
