About Bullyard
Bullyard is a small rural town in the Bundaberg Region of Queensland, about 37 kilometres west of Bundaberg off the Bruce Highway. Named after a temporary stockyard built by drover Charles Holmes while transporting bulls, the area was originally a cane farming district supplying the nearby Bingera Sugar Mill. The heritage-listed Bullyard Hall, built in 1908, continues as a community hub, and the Kolan Railway Station on the Bundaberg-Mount Perry line was erected in 1881.
