About Boonara
Boonara is a rural locality in the Gympie Region of Queensland, situated along the Burnett Highway about 32 kilometres north-east of Murgon. The area dates to the 1846 establishment of the Boonara pastoral station, and the heritage-listed Boonara Homestead, built in 1862, still stands on the highway. The surrounding landscape is gently rolling grazing country typical of the South Burnett.
